Pretty In Pink
So, this is what Abbie looks like with pink-eye.

Yep, we made another Sunday afternoon run to the doctor, and Abbie does have pink eye, but it's viral not bacterial - brought on by a double ear infection. Happy, happy, joy, joy! This is her third ear infection in three months, so it looks like we might be headed down the tube route with her, too. Well, at least it's a road well-traveled. I was going to tell you that even through pink eye and ears that have to be bothering her, she's still a sweet, happy camper. And she was, when I left for work at 10:30 this morning after Steve got home from his couple of hours at work - talk about a split-shift! I was about 6 miles from the house when my cell phone rang. You know how sometimes you just know that the ring isn't going to be great news? Well, my instincts were right. Steve was on the other end and Abbie was throwing up. Poor little baby! And that seems to be the straw that broke the camel's back. Pink, itchy eye? Keep Smiling! Throbbing, full ears? Just keep right on playing! Throwing up all over your bed, yourself, and your Daddy? Okay, that's enough! Steve said she was pale and just looking around, watching Susu play - not a single smile. She's back asleep now and hopefully, she'll feel better when she wakes up. I'm glad I decided to come on into work today, 'cause it looks like I'm going to need the ONE vacation day that I have left to stay home with her tomorrow - when she really doesn't feel well, all she wants is Mommy and who can blame her?
At GoDigitalScrapbooking.com (where I've entered the contest and where I'm really enjoying hanging out), they have a Journaling Challenge once a month. Last month, it was to scrap your hero and I did a page about Steve and this month it was to scrap the phrase, "Without You". So, this is what I did (and no, this isn't my third round contest entry!)

I'm not sure if you can read the journaling blocks around the page but they say:
Without you...
My babies wouldn't have an aunt who sounds just like their mommy
I wouldn't have a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen
I wouldn't have someone who understands me even when I don't make sense
I wouldn't have my best friend in the world.
I was so touched by the comments people left about the layout - most everyone was envious of the relationship that I have with Sister. I guess subconsciously I am always aware of what a blessing our relationship is, but when other people comment on it, it really makes me open my eyes and realize how very, very lucky I am!
And here's your Susu funny for the day.
Yesterday, Steve took her to the park to play. As she usually does, she made friends with a little 5 year old girl (think she misses Ruby at all?). This little girl's name was either Anna or Hannah (depending on who you ask - Steve says Anna, Susu says Hannah). Anyway, Steve said they'd been playing for a few minutes and Susu told Anna/Hannah - "Hey! I have a little brother - he's two!" So, I asked Steve if Anna/Hannah had said something about having a brother, thinking Susu was just mimicking. He said nope, she came up with that all on her own. Guess she forgot about Abbie...

So, I didn't comment on your first entry this morning, so you had to post one that made me cry! The scary thing is that I even like that picture. It must be Abbie. What I can't believe is how much bigger she is in her pink eye picture (which I wished my eyes were that cute WITHOUT pink eye) than in our picture from Christmas. How did she change so much in five months? ILYLALALALALAL!

Do you still wish she had been a puppy?
Maybe the imaginary brothers are a genetic thing
