In Training

It seems as if everyone in my family is in training these days.  I guess Steve isn't technically in training for anything, but if anything comes along, he'll be ready.  He has been going to the gym every day after work.  I'm so proud of him for his dedication and his hard work is really paying off..I'm going to be the lucky wife off a very buff husband here very soon.  Guess I better get myself up off the couch and get to working on reciprocating that gift

I am in training for the Complete Lack Of Common Sense Olympics.  At the rate I'm going, I'll be taking gold in all the events I participate in.  Like, did you know that if you heat a pyrex dish up in the microwave and then try and take it out without oven mitts, it's going to feel hot against your skin, like hot enough to make you drop said dish and break  it and burn your hands in the process?  Gold, here I come!

Gracie is in training to become either the next great ballerina, soccer player, singer, basketball player, break-dancer, story-teller, melodrama queen, or her latest thing, Ultimate Fighting Champ (you'll have to read more about that tomorrow).  It just depends on the day.

And my baby girl, Abigail....well, let's just say that she's not in training to become the next great fashion icon....I really do think she's honing her skills to become a bag lady....I'm just gonna let the pictures speak for themselves here....

Wearing her shirt as a shirt, mine as a toga, her sister's as a long skirt, my tennis shoes, and Gracie's socks as mittens:

And (this is a few hours later, after she added to her ensemble) here she is, wearing the same things as before (minus the shoes and gloves), but she's added Emmie's gymnastics leotard and a pair of Gracie's tights that were headed to the trash bin.  (that's Gracie, in the background, practicing her ballet moves)

And a back view (oh my goodness, she's going to kill me one day!)

And a side view, which I think shows off her bulk (and of course her Minnie Mouse shoes) very well...

The thing that warms my heart about these pictures is how PROUD she was!  She dressed herself completely in the first ensemble - she had to have my help with the tights, the leotard, and the minnie shoes for the second get-up, but you could tell that she thought she was soooo big because she was wearing things that her sister wears...I hope she always keeps this ability to create her own style and be comfortable in whatever she's wearing...I could certainly take a lesson from her....
