Road Trip
I'm tired. Not tired like I've missed a couple of hours of sleep, but tired like I drove 760 miles in two days with two little girls who were not excited about riding in their car seats for 13 hours. Tired like my kids have decided to give up their normal sleep schedule and stay up until after 11:00 p.m. for the last four nights. Tired like I fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow. But, I'm also tired because I'm having such a great time - our days this week have been filled to the brim with different kinds of fun and while we're all a bit grumpy because we're losing precious hours of sleep, we're all very happy to be on our trip. Gracie is going to zoo camp with her cousins this week and Abigail is hanging out with me and Grandmommy - I'm going to break the week down into a few blog entries, so it won't be so looonnng and drawn out. Okay, it will still be long and drawn out, but at least the story will be broken down into parts
Road Trip
The girls and I left late Saturday morning to head to my parents house to pick up my mother before we all headed up to my sister's house. When we were loading up the car at my parents house, Gracie and Abigail were playing in the front seat. Gracie said she was going to dop Abigail off at school and then she was going to "drive to Alabama".

Abigail seemed just fine with that. When she got her turn in the driver's seat, I asked her where she was going and she said, "Awwabaamma!"
The next morning we left and headed north. We stopped for a picnic at a rest area in Mississippi. (Can I just interject here that Mississippi has the nicest rest stops of anywhere I've ever stopped. The welcome center we stopped in was decorated like an antebellum mansion - well, at least that's what I thought. Gracie thought it looked like a funeral home. She said, "Remember when we came here to say prayers for Granpoppy?" I realized that she was talking about the service for my grandfather in March. I think he would have liked the welcome center, too. The flowers outside were beautiful.) Here are the girls at the picnic table. The striped thing that Gracie is holding in her lap is her sweater. The one that she wore for the entire trip and even through half of the picnic. Yes, it over 90 degrees and the humidity made it feel closer to 100 degrees, but my girls loves that sweater

Finally, we drove up in my sister's driveway. We were so happy to get here. And the girls were all so excited to start Zoo Camp on Monday morning. Stay tuned for that story....
Steve, we all miss you so much and can't wait to see you!
