Mail Me To Tennessee
Okay, so here's what I was doing at 7:47 this morning:

Yes, I was taking pictures of Gracie's lunch. If you've ever wondered if I'm a lunatic, here would be your tangible proof. I don't know why I was taking pictures of Gracie's lunch - I just was. 'Cause I could.
I was also doing this:

Taking pictures of Abigail running around with stamps on her face. And Steve wonders why we never have any stamps to mail stuff. Here would be why - our youngest daughter uses them for tatoos. Which, when you think about is fairly resourceful because I'm pretty sure that stamps are cheaper than tattos - not much cheaper mind you, but at least until the next postage hike, it is a fairly economical way to decorate your face.
After I took this picture, I thought...."Hmmm, I'll have to blog about this and name the title of the post Mail Me To Tennessee...." Don't all of you have offbeat thoughts like that bouncing around in your head? No? Are you sure? Well, we've already established that I'm a lunatic....
Now, you might think that since I was running around taking pictures of random things and that I was naming yet to be written blog posts that the girls and I all were all ready to leave for school by 8:15 (which was a short 25 minutes after the timestamps on the pictures). Well, we weren't. In fact we were nowhere close. The girls hadn't even had breakfast and none of us were dressed. We were running just a tad bit behind, which is honestly nothing unusual.
About 8:05, the phone rang. I answered it and the director of the girls' preschool was on the other end. She asked if I would mind substituing in the 2-year-old class this morning. I paused for just a nanosecond, and then told her I'd do it. She must have sensed my deer in the headlights feeling because she asked, "Are you sure? You don't have something else planned do you?" I assured her that no, I didn't. I couldn't tell her that my hesitation was because we had 15 minutes left to get ready and no one was dressed and I had no idea what to pack Abigail for a lunch since it wasn't her day to go (remember there were no pictures of Abigail's lunch, just Gracie's). I really didn't want to admit to the director of the girls' school that I am this discombobulated in the morning. After all, she was already there at the school, her act completely together, and her voice sounding, as it always does, kind and happy.
Somehow, and I'm still not sure how, the girls and I got dressed, I threw together a lunch for Abigail, and we loaded up and made it to school in time for all of us to get to our classes. I had a wonderful time - the two-year-old class is the one that's a year older than Abigail's class and the little boys and girls were just so sweet. I can't believe that in another six months or so, Abigail is going to be as old as they are. They seemed so grown up! I'm really glad I didn't let my complete lack of organization keep me from subbing today - I would have missed a great opportunity! Now, if only I'd had time to take a picture of Abigail's lunch, it would have been a perfect day.
