A Small Sense of Accomplishment
I did it! I did it! I did it! I took a picture every day in January. I’ve accomplished that before in past years, but I’ve never managed to actually get the pictures organized and something written about them. This year I did it and I have to admit, I’m pretty proud of myself.
My other goals for the month? Well, they didn’t turn out so great. - I was going to walk 25 miles (I walked 3). I was going to sew 4 things (I sewed none). I was going to read my new devotional every day (I read about 10 days). I’m going to try and accomplish more in February.
January was a great month. Gracie learned to ride her bike without training wheels and she turned seven. 7!!! How is that possible? She had a three-day birthday party – one with friends at the park, one with just us at the movies, and one with Great-Gran and Harry the day after her birthday. Nothing like a little celebrating!
Abigail had play dates and field trips and time with me. She’s learning more and more of her letters and loving preschool. I’m enjoying a little professional photography downtime after a crazy November and December. My programming jobs are keeping me busy and I’m really enjoying writing some interesting code.
Steve was doing great until he hurt his knee at work last Thursday. He’ll be off work for a little while until a doctor clears him to return, so that will make things interesting around here for at least a week or so. It will be nice to spend some more time with him, but I know he’s antsy to get back to work.
Overall, life is wonderful! Did I mention that one of my February goals is to blog more? So, maybe I’ll be here a little more often this month.
I’ll leave you with a couple of my favorite pictures from this month:
Steve helping Gracie learn to ride her bike…look at that smile on her face!
Blowing out all seven of her candles..
My snow princess…she asked to have her hair curled before Dads and Desserts at her preschool.
And finally: here’s why I love being a Daisy troop leader. I took this yesterday at the park where we met to work on our first service project…taking care of the flowerbeds in front of the park. The girls were so excited! We split them the twelve of them up into groups of three – this is my group showing their dirty hands after weeding.
I have to say, looking back on the pictures of this month…I love my life and all the people in it!
