Riding The Wave
Let’s just say that the last week has been hectic. After a day or two at most of being lulled into a sense of summer calm, the reality of my life broke through. Work demands, end of the year scout field trips, ballet recitals, service projects, and a host of other obligations had me feeling overwhelmed and ready for a burnout. Finally, on Sunday night, I started to see the light at the end of the tunnel (still a way off, mind you, but there nonetheless). I can feel the stresses starting to fade away and I hope that within a week or two, I’ll really be able to relax and maybe even take a day or two off from work. In the meantime, I’m trying to steal a few moments here and there and just enjoy the ride. Last night I took all four girls (it is Cousin Camp here this week) to the beach. I snapped a few pictures of them playing in the waves. Then, I joined them. I slept well last night – the sleep of someone rocked to sleep by the smell of salt air and the motion of the waves…
